In their archiving the city’s often hidden treasures, the Murrays have documented the stories behind the store fronts.

This is a beautiful ode to classic, New York, independently owned businesses including bodegas, candy shops and record stores and well known restaurants, bars and cafes. From the Stonewall Inn to the Brownsville Bike Shop and The Pink Pussycat to Smith and Wollensky, and to yes, Kaufman’s Army & Navy.
